Early Curled Siberian Kale Seeds (Brassica napus var. pabularia cv.)

Thomas Jefferson's vegetable garden commonly included various Kales such as German, Russian, Delaware, Malta, and Scotch types. This tender green, also known as Borecole and Headless Cabbage, is superior source of vitamins and iron, surpassing even spinach. Early Curled Siberian Kale is an extremely hardy and vigorous variety with blue-green, ruffled, tender leaves.

Kale is best grown as a spring, fall, or winter crop, as cool temperatures and light frosts enhance the flavor. Direct sow seeds in rich garden loam 1-2 weeks before last frost in spring and 10 weeks before the first frost in fall. Alternatively, start seeds indoors 4 weeks before planting in the garden. Approximately 85-90 seeds per packet.
