This North American native grows from Ontario and Manitoba south to Georgia and Louisiana. When first introduced in 1714, it was classed as a member of the Veronica or Speedwell genus. Culver's Root was once used as a liver tonic and laxative, but today is considered an elegant ornamental, adding verticality to the garden with its white flowers held upright like narrow candelabras.
Culver's Root, Virginia Speedwell (Veronicastrum virginicum) arrives in a 2.5" pot.
