Harvested from the gardens at Monticello.
Texas, or Scarlet Sage is grown as a tender annual for full sun. Native from tropical America into the southern United States, this species has been grown as an ornamental in North American gardens since the middle of the nineteenth century. The spreading plants reach two to three feet and produce slender spikes of scarlet flowers from mid-summer until the first frost in autumn.

Sow seeds after the last frost in spring. Texas Sage reseeds itself easily. Approximately 45-50 seeds per pack.
